Our journey began in 2014, when we were commissioned through another business to build a personalization software for a greeting card company aiming to launch an in-store kiosk solution. The software we developed became the engine behind their kiosks, which are still operating successfully today. From that single project, Printzware was born.
As personalized products gained traction and direct-to-consumer websites like Moonpig and Funky Pigeon rose to prominence, we saw an opportunity to create a platform that could plug directly into any retailer’s existing e-commerce website. The goal was simple: allow retailers to offer personalized greeting cards without overhauling their operations.
We built a system that gave retailers full flexibility—they could choose to print and ship the cards in-house alongside their regular orders, or outsource production through Printzware’s trusted network of global print partners. This modular, scalable approach made it easier than ever for retailers to tap into the growing demand for personalized gifting.
In 2019, we expanded our platform to support a wider range of print-on-demand products, including wall art, apparel, and stationery. This laid the groundwork for broader applications in personalized retail.
Then in late 2021, we began developing the current version of our Greeting & Gift Card Kiosk—a compact, self-service solution that combines real-time card personalization with access to gift cards from thousands of leading brands. These kiosks are now live in major retail environments across the United States, Ireland, and the UK, delivering a frictionless, last-minute gifting experience for shoppers.
Today, Printzware powers both digital and physical personalization experiences for florists, gift retailers, grocers, pharmacies, airports, hotels, and more. Whether installed in-store or integrated into a website, our platform helps retailers increase sales, reduce waste, and elevate their customer experience.
Printzware was founded by Patrick Gahan, Tony Goold, and Michael McGuinness, and continues to operate at the intersection of software, print, and retail innovation. We’re proud to work with forward-thinking retailers who want to offer smarter, more meaningful gifting solutions—wherever their customers choose to shop.
